Jaded Cops in all Media
Cure, another of the 'new Japanese horror' school of movies. This one, however, has a very tight plot and flows really well, better then Ju-on aka the Grudge (either version) or the Ring (and probably better even then the American remake). Lots of interesting ideas and imagery combines with a very clear progression of events. The detective character, Detective Takabe played Koji Yakusho, is a classic, his home life is a shambles and all that drives him is his work. His wife has . . . mental problems so he is becoming an amature psychologist to try and cope. Excellent work. My Grade: B
C is an average, enjoyable movie with nothing special one way or the other. This is what Cs mean, standard work, nothing more or less.
Better then C, means that I think it has something worth seeing in it. The rare A is reserved for movies I think everyone should see, if you even halfway share my taste in movies.
An F is reserved for a movie that fails on all levels and is entirely unwatchable. Luckily, I have not seen any that "achieve" that goal.
